ISLAMABAD: Former finance minister Asad Umar would not be returning to Prime Minister Imran Khan's cabinet, sources informed Geo News Tuesday.
Umar had a one-to-one meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan today, according to sources. The meeting was part of efforts to convince the former finance minister to rejoin the cabinet.
However, Umar has not agreed to rejoin the cabinet, the sources informed.
Asad Umar quit last month as finance minister after PM Imran Khan asked him to take portfolio of petroleum, which he refused and opted to step down.Later on, Dr Hafeez Sheikh was tasked with the responsibility of running the affairs of finance.
