KARACHI: Pakistan’s former captain Asif Iqbal underwent a bypass operation in London on Thursday, and is recovering well, Olympian Islahuddin told ‘The News’ on Friday.
Islahuddin, a former hockey player, is a close friend of Asif.
He said he had talked to Asif’s wife Farhana, who told him that the former cricketer was recovering well. She also said that he would remain in intensive care for 48 hours.
Asif, a right-handed batting all-rounder, played 58 Tests and 10 ODIs for Pakistan between 1964 and 1980.
