KARACHI: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) held a meeting to discuss proposals for the New Tax Amnesty Scheme 2019 at the Federation House, Karachi, a statement said on Monday.
FPCCI President Daroo Khan Achakzai headed the meeting with Regional office Lahore and Capital Office Islamabad on video link. He discussed the outcomes of the last amnesty schemes and focused on the need for a new scheme for the documentation of the economy and increase in tax revenue.
SAARC CCI Senior Vice President (SVP) Iftikhar Ali Malik asked to increase the confidence of tax payers, removal of piracy, mis-declaration, and smuggling.
SM Muneer underlined the need of revival of last amnesty scheme with some necessary amendments announced in April 2018 for three months.
FPCCI Senior Vice President Dr Mirza Ikhtair Baig also stressed on the same tax rates of last amnesty scheme 2018 and continuation of Foreign Exchange Reforms Act which allowed opening of account, transactions and remittance facility in foreign currency.
