Unstable claims by Indian leadership to improve after elections: FM Qureshi

During a media interaction, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader expressed that the country has maintained its stance as being ‘peaceful’; however, Pakistan also possesses the right to defend itself.

MULTAN: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said on Sunday that strains between India and Pakistan will improve subsequent to the polls across the border.

During a media interaction, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader expressed that the country has maintained its stance as being ‘peaceful’; however, Pakistan also possesses the right to defend itself.

“Pakistan is ready to resolve all issues with India through dialogue and Islamabad will take two steps if New Delhi takes one in that direction,” he said.

Stating that India’s leadership is going through a bumpy patch, he added that the situation is expected to improve after the elections.

We have to be watchful of the enemy and not let our guard down,” he added.

Furthermore, regarding the topic of China, the FM stated: “China has always been an important friend of Pakistan. China has always stood by our side. It has given importance to Pakistan’s need and will continue to do so.”
