LAHORE: Minister of State for Revenue Hammad Azhar has said that through technology profiling, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is preparing the largest database of tax evaders with the cooperation of NADRA and State Bank of Pakistan to bring them into the tax net, a statement said on Monday.
Addressing businessmen at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), he said this profiling is in advance stage and would be completed by the end of April.
There would be no escape for tax evaders and there would be no need for raids by the FBR, he said, adding that FBR raids on business premises have been suspended till March 31, 2019.
He advised all those that evaded or understated income to file realistic returns. Most of the raids were conducted on the basis of data analysis of firms and individuals. However, he said the tax collectors are not so clean and grab every opportunity to mint money.
