PSL 2019: Pakistan security forces earn praise from foreign players

Pakistani forces have earned accolades from the international cricketers for providing them foolproof security during their stay here for PSL 2019. Before departing, Cameron Delport, Phil Salt and Ravi Bopara spoke highly of the security apparatus for their professionalism.

KARACHI: The fourth edition of Pakistan Super League concluding today with the final being played between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi at the Karachi’s iconic National Stadium.

This is for the first time in four years that international cricketers are playing in the PSL matches here and they are fully impressed with the arrangements made by the forces for ensuring foolproof security to all the players.

England’s Phil Salt, who played for the Islamabad United shared a picture of him sharing a smile with a soldier. ‘Huge respect to the armed forces,’ the player tweeted.

Another English cricketer, Ravi Bopara thanked the Pakistani police for making them ‘feel safe’.

Before leaving Pakistan he tweeted: “Pakistan, u should be proud of urself. I want to thank every soldier and police who made us feel safe during our stay. I got to meet some more of the public this time and I have to say the hospitality was some of the best I’ve received. #psl :flag-pk:”.

The security has been termed satisfactory by the international experts who reviewed the arrangements during the PSL matches in the National Stadium.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah was declared ‘Man of the Match’ for making the herculean task of holding eight matches in Karachi possible by the Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ehsan Mani.
