A number of filtration plants have been installed in Islamabad to ensure the provision of safe drinking water to residents. However, a recent survey shows that 50 percent of these plants are out of order and the ones that are working mostly have expired filters. It has been observed that the relevant staff never visit the site for its upkeep.
Having access to safe water is one of the basic rights of citizens, but it is unfortunate that a majority of people are deprived of this basic facility. PM Imran Khan must look into the matter.
