It is heartening to know that the present government, in order to boost tourism in the country, has liberalised the visit visa policy for foreign nationals visiting Pakistan. The present government has also taken action to invite foreign direct investment in various projects in the country. The investments are likely to come from Saudi Arabia, China, Malaysia and the UAE. In order to meet the requirements within the country of foreign investors and tourist who are likely to visit Pakistan, we should carry out the restructuring of our infrastructure and must create proper facilities to accommodate tourists and investors.
It is, therefore, the responsibility of both the federal and provincial governments to take effective measures to create sufficient technical manpower to facilitate tourists. Proper transportation and medical facilities must be provided. An adequate number of hotels should be constructed to accommodate tourists. Security must be enhanced to provide a safe environment to visitors.
