Out of the top 10 most polluted cities, 7 are in India

According to IQ Air AirVisual and Greenpeace survey Indian city of Gurugram is leading the world’s cities in terms of pollution with the second spot also getting reserved by India’s Ghaziabad.

Seven Indian cities have made the top ten list of the most polluted cities in the world as per a study by AirVisual, which includes two Pakistani metropolises as well.

According to the survey Indian city of Gurugram is leading the world’s cities in terms of pollution with the second spot also getting reserved by India’s Ghaziabad.

Pakistan’s Faisalabad, however, has landed before the remaining five cities from across the border, at number three while Lahore is closing the list at number 10.

The only city outside of India and Pakistan was China’s Hotan on the eighth spot.

Regarding the findings in South Asia’s deteriorating environment, executive director of Greenpeace Southeast Asia Yeb Sano has stated: “This has enormous impacts, on our health and on our wallets. In addition to human lives lost, there's an estimated cost of $225 billion in lost labor, and trillions in medical cost.”
