India's skipper Virat Kohli has finally come forth breaking silence over the country's decision to call for a ban against playing Pakistan at the ICC World Cup 2019 on July 16.
Addressing a presser on the eve of India's first T20I against Australia, Virat Kohli spoke on the matter in response to a question regarding the team's stance on the situation.
"Our sincere condolences to the families of CRPF soldiers who lost their lives in Pulwama attack. We stand by what the nation wants to do and what the BCCI decides to do. We will go by what the govt & the Board decides, we will respect that," he said during the media conference on Saturday.
While the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is relying on the government to reach a decision, Kohli said that the team will respect whatever the decision is.
The match between India and Pakistan at the ICC World Cup is uncertain as India has called for a boycott against playing Pakistan in attempts to sever cricket ties with the country after the Pulwama attack.
