Muntehaa Azad, the artist of nature shared with this scribe, “I don’t feel complete if I don’t do the watercolours, I feel as if my day has not completed yet”.

This is the extent of her devotion, inspiration and dedication to painting in water colours. All these watercolours are inspired by my surroundings that are etched in my head and are now part of my fictional character which I play within my life, she added.

Born in Lahore and living in Rawalakot, Azad Kashmir with her architect husband, Muntehaa did her BFA from Punjab University. She is inspired by her mentor and her teacher AQ Arif, who persuaded her to use watercolours as a medium of expressing her love for nature, which she did in her fascinating creations being displayed at Nairang and will be inaugurated by the world renowned painter Saeed Akhtar. She wanted to be a painter, but her mom advised her to become a fashion designer due to the financial gains associated with fashion designing.

On her advice, she got herself enrolled in Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture in ‘Apparel Design’ and came out with a Master’s degree in the same discipline.
