Pakistan bans Jama’at-ud-Da'wah and its charity organisation

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Thursday banned Jama’at-ud-Da'wah and its charity organisation Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation.

It was decided in the National Security Committee meeting held here today, chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan, along with discussing the Pulwama attack and the present tensions with India.

He directed the interior ministry and the security agencies to expedite an immediate crackdown against the extremist elements in the country.

A spokesman of Ministry of Interior has said that the NSC meeting reviewed the National Action Plan in detail. It was decided during the meeting to accelerate action against proscribed organisations.

It was further decided that Jamat-ut-Dawa and Falah-e- Insaniat Foundation be notified as proscribed organisations by the Ministry of Interior.

The Prime Minister gave the Pakistan Army full authority to befittingly respond to any Indian misadventure or other matters within Pakistan.
