NAB raids Agha Siraj Durrani's Karachi house

The anti-graft watchdog team entered the house after showing the search warrants to the Durrani's family, who were reportedly present in the house at he time of raid.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday conducted a search raid at the residence of Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani, who was earlier detained in a case pertaining to assets beyond known income.

NAB officials accompanied by Rangers cordoned off the residence of Agha Siraj Durrani and searched his house for several hours. The anti-graft watchdog reportedly confiscated important files and other records during the raid.

Earlier in the day, Speaker Sindh Assembly had been nabbed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday in a case pertaining to assets beyond known income. The PPP leader was taken into custody from of federal capital.

Meanwhile, after an emergency cabinet meeting chaired by Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah, which declared Durrani’s arrest as “illegal,” provincial ministers led by former chief minister Qaim Ali Shah rushed to the speaker’s home. They were not allowed to enter the home.
