The rupee ended weaker on Tuesday, as the dollar demand from importers weighed on the currency, while political tension between Pakistan and India also dented investor sentiment, traders said. The rupee closed at 138.92 against the dollar, compared with Monday’s closing of 138.72. In the open market, the rupee traded at 139.20/dollar, compared with 138.90 in the previous session. Traders said the rupee came under pressure, as importers bought dollars to make their payments.
