HYDERABAD: Engulfed by a world of ghastly crimes and nefarious deeds, 22-year-old deaf and mute Shireen Brohi was brutally murdered on the dark night of Feb 16 in her hometown Sawan Khaskheli village.

It all happened when unknown intruders barged into Shireen's house, tortured and dragged her across the floor before killing her ruthlessly, while all this time she kept pleading for help.

Shireen's killer, identified as Rehman Shaikh, was later arrested by the Kotri SITE police and produced in the Hyderabad Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) court with a request of seven-day remand.

However, the young lady's stifled cry continues to haunt her family members even now.

Condoling Shireen's death, Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) MPA Nusrat Sehar Abbasi paid a visit to the aggrieved family to empathise with the irreparable loss.

Abbasi also met with Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Naeem for any developments on the case and has vowed to personally follow it until justice is provided to the bereaved family.

Meanwhile, Abbasi also criticised holding of jirgas to handle such cases.
