A Junoon album could be in the pipeline

It’s no secret that Junoon, after years of discontent, re-banded last year. A press conference featuring the big three (band members) confirmed that they will indeed be doing something together. It first emerged in the shape of the music video for ‘Khudi’ followed by a concert in Karachi.

Since then, they have played in Dubai and were also a part of the performing line-up for PSL4. Now it seems the band will be making a new studio album. Salman Ahmed, apparently in an interview with a local TV channel, stated that the PSL gig was the third show they played with the last two being “sold out”. Nonetheless, beyond performing, Salman Ahmed noted that they plan to go on a world tour (we saw that coming) and Junoon will be making a new album as well. It truly isn’t a question of their contribution to Pakistani music but after Deewar and Ishq (Andaaz) – their last two records as well as Ali Azmat’s emergence as a fantastic solo artist (Social Circus, Klashinifolk) - what the probable album will be like is a wonder.
