Ties with India

India quickly blamed Pakistan for the Pulwama suicide attack, even before investigation teams visited the site of the attack and collected samples for forensic examination. The absurdity of Indian claims came out in the open when an Indian commander expressed that the suicide bomber cannot possibly come from Pakistan. He added that it was “not possible to bring such massive amounts of explosives by infiltrating the border”.

What India is ignoring to do is to look at its own actions. Indian atrocities in Kashmir know no bounds. People in the valley live under the blanket of constant fear. Incidents like using a man as a human shield and forcefully rubbing civilians’ noses on the ground are some of the actions that may have contributed towards the radicalisation of the youth. Can someone recall what happened to the Indian army major who tied a Kashmiri protester to his jeep? He was awarded a commendation certificate by the chief of Indian army.

The recent attack in Indian Occupied Kashmir has escalated tensions between India and Pakistan. More than 40 Indian security personnel were killed in the attack. The Indian PM released harsh statements, conveniently accusing Pakistan of carrying out the attack.

Many believe that the Modi government is regarding the tragedy as an opportunity to induce hatred among people and stabilise its dwindling support base across the country. Being a peaceful nation, the Pakistani people hope that the relationship between the two countries doesn’t worsen.
