Bajaur jirga seeks judicial commission to probe murder of labourers

KHAR: A grand jirga here on Sunday decided to register the first information report (FIR) against the killing of three labourers of Bajaur in Larkana city of Sindh province recently and urged the government to constitute a judicial commission to probe the incident.

Organised by the Bajaur Youth Jirga and attended by members of trader community, local leaders of political parties, elders of Turkhani and Uthmankhel tribes and others, the grand jirga condemned the killing of three labourers. It urged the federal, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh governments to arrest the killers forthwith and award them exemplary punishment.

Speaking at the jirga, BYJ chairman Sartaj Aziz, Sheikh Jahanzada, Syed Akhunzada Chattan, Dr Hameedur Rahman, Maulana Waheed Gul, Muhammad Ayub and others said that the FIR against the unidentified accused would be registered today and now it was the responsibility of government to bring the killer(s) to justice.

“We will decide the future line of action against the tragic incident and will not sit idle until and unless justice is provided to the victim families,” the elders vowed.

They asked the prime minister, interior minister and chief ministers of Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to seek an apology for not taking any notice of the gruesome incident.
