The judge asked the NAB prosecutor about the progress in investigations against the accused and about filing of a reference. The prosecutor said the reference against Khwajas will be filed within 90 days of their arrest. The court then extended the judicial remand by March 4 and directed NAB officials to work fast and file the reference.

Speaking to the media outside the courtroom after the hearing, Saad said he was brought to the court in an armoured vehicle which looked 60 years old and it took one hour to reach the court. He said he is feeling pain in his leg and a doctor visited him after seven days despite repeated complaints about his health condition. “Pain in my leg has aggravated due to the dilapidated condition of the armoured vehicle,” he said, adding that the government will not remain theirs forever. What they are doing is not right.
