Five of a family shot dead in Nowshera

NOWSHERA: Five members of a family were shot dead allegedly over a property dispute, official sources said on Thursday.

Saddam Hussain, son of Saidan Shah, a resident of Badaber in Peshawar district, reported the incident to the cops of the Pabbi Police Station.

The complainant said that he was at his home when informed that armed men had shot dead his brother, Syed Aleem Shah, his wife, Hadia, sons, Kashif, Farman, and daughter, Nida Anwar in Kandi Taza Deen in Pabbi late Wednesday night.

He said the assailants killed his brother and his family members, who had settled in Pabbi, after forcing their entry into the house.

“When I reached the spot, I saw the bodies of my brother, sister-in-law, nephews and niece lying in a pool of blood,” he stated in the complaint

The complainant said he was sure that his brother and his family members had been killed by Allauddin, Moeenuddin, Salahuddin and Badruddin, sons of Habibur Rehman, residents of Badaber town, Peshawar. He linked the killings to a property dispute. The killers escaped after committing the crime.

Nowshera District Police Officer Mansoor Aman, Pabbi Station House Officer Irshad Khan and Jalozai SHO, Haneef Khan reached the scene. The DPO constituted a probe team headed by the SP Investigation after a case was registered.

It was learnt that the incident happened on Wednesday night. The local residents informed the police on Thursday at 10 am.

The head of the slain family, Syed Aleem Shah, had shifted to Kandi Taza Deen from Badaber one and a half years back. The family was living in a rented house.

Aleem Shah used to drive a qingqi auto rickshaw to earn a living for his family. Later he became bed-ridden after reportedly suffering from a kidney problem.
