With India having banned Pakistani artists from working in Bollywood, every now and then controversies arise when Pakistani singers such as Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Atif Aslam lend their voices to various projects.

However, when superstar Mahira Khan was asked at a recent event whether Indian artists should be banned in Pakistan as well, the Humsafar actress said that things are changing in Bollywood now and that the ban might be removed. “It’s something that I have answered many times but I hear things are changing now with Bollywood.”

Mahira reiterated, “I don’t think that we will solve anything by retaliating, and I think things won’t work by doing tit for tat.”

According to the actress, she doesn’t hold any grudges against the Bollywood entertainment industry and added, “You ban us, we ban you, you do this, we do that, no I don’t think so; I think they are an amazing industry and I have very close friends there still and I think we are an amazing industry too. World over there should be an exchange of art.”

The ban on Pakistani artists working in India came about more than two years ago, right before the release of Fawad Khan’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Mahira Khan’s Raees alongside Shah Rukh Khan. Let’s wait and see if things will change for the better.
