“Though we have a full-fledge Japanese restaurant, the idea of organising this food festival is to promote and encourage people to try Japanese food. Until recently, Japanese food typically meant sushi, sukiyaki and tempura, but at the on-going Japanese Food Festival, you can enjoy a number of Japanese delicacies in a serene ambiance,” says Madiha Ovais of Avari.
There are a range of appetizers (cold & hot), main course, soups and Teppanyaki (food cooked on iron griddle). The cold appetizers include Mixed Sushi, Sashimi and Maki, Namayasai Sarada, Gomoku Sarada, Hiyashi Wakame, Gyu Tataki and Maguro Tataki. On the other hand, the hot appetizers include Ebi and Tori Gyoza, Satsuma Age, Agedashi Tofu, Negima Yaki and Ebi Furai to name a few. The main courses have some of the most popular Japanese cuisines including Tori Katsu, Gyu Katsu, Sakana Katsu, Tori Teriyaki and Sakana Teriyaki.
