Isn’t it delightful to know that Pakistani musicians are playing shows abroad? One man who is smartly maneuvering his way both at home and abroad is the multicultural musician and author Ali Sethi. Having performed on Coke Studio 11 earlier this season as well as interviewing Farida Khanum for LUMS’ Gurmani Centre for Languages and Literature’s Halqa-e-Danish series, also known as Maestros of Raag (Fall 2018), Ali is set to tour the United States. Beginning later this month, it will stretch into the next month. Beginning from ‘From Lahore with Love’ that’ll feature Ali and Harvard professor Ali Asani and will be a lecture-cum-demonstration, Ali will then perform a gig at Diamond Middle School Auditorium on November 30. He is also scheduled to play at a fundraising event before heading to Cornell University followed by University of Minnesota. The US tour will take Sethi to Washington, Cornell, Boston, Minneapolis, and will end in Manhattan, New York where he will take the stage with the iconic Farida Khanum. This particular event is presented by Rekhta foundation, Shaam-e-Rekhta.

Ali is also scheduled to perform at the local Coca Cola Food and Music Festival that will take place in five cities. Where Ali will emerge as a performer, therefore, remains the big question.
