The reality TV show includes Kher, Johar and Malaika Arora as judge.

Karan got severely criticized for making fun of the culture and traditional headgears of the people of northeast India.

Replying to an Assamese journalist on twitter, the director wrote, "You are absolutely right and I would like to apologise if I have hurt any sentiments.

It was purely unintentional and came from a place of no knowledge which is absolutely no excuse. I am extremely sensitive to the different cultures of our land and I am very sorry."

The 46 years old also added that he had deleted the Instagram video.
