After releasing the teaser of upcoming film Durj – that only showed glimpses of the lead characters – the official trailer of Shamoon Abbasi’s upcoming directorial venture has finally released. It is dark and intriguing to say the least. Based on real events, the suspense-thriller has a nearly three-minute-long trailer; it starts off with actress Myra Khan, who is talking about her missing husband. It also features Shamoon Abbasi and Sherry Shah, who have undergone major transformation to achieve a certain look for the film, dealing with fresh dead bodies. Major parts of the film have been shot in deserts, caves and mountains, giving a sense of being with the characters at that particular spot. We also see that an entire police force is busy investigating a heinous crime but they are unable to find any leads. But ultimately they arrest the person who is responsible for it. The trailer doesn’t give away too much of the story, but one can’t deny the fact that Abbasi and Shah have performed brilliantly, so far.

“Durj is based on a terrifying reality, all I can say is that the story is based on a historical criminal act that has occurred numerous times all around the world. We researched thoroughly and picked up incidents that took place in Pakistan and then turned it into a suspense film,” Abbasi told Instep in an earlier interview.

Apart from Abbasi, Shah and Khan, Durj stars Nouman Javaid and Majid Khan (Dodi) in key roles. The release date of Durj has not been announced yet, but the trailer surely looks intense and we can’t wait to watch the movie on the big screen.
