Ingredients

Unsalted butter (softened) 1 cup

Cocoa powder 1 1/4 cups

Flour (sifted) 3 cups

Baking powder 1 tbsp

Salt 1/2 tsp

Sugar 2 3/4 cups

Eggs 3

Vanilla essence 11/2 tsp

Buttermilk 11/2 cups

Method

Serve decorated with chocolate and cherries.

For Chocolate Frosting

Icing sugar 4 1/2 cups

Cocoa powder 1/2 cup

Salt 1/4 tsp

Cream cheese (room temperature) 12 ounces

Unsalted butter (softened) 3/4 cup

Milk chocolate (melted) 18 ounces

Sour cream 1 1/2 cups

Method

Chef’s Tip: If you have any left over cake, you can make individual servings. Chop left over cake in the cups; garnish it with chocolate ganache, chocolate syrup or Nutella. Top with chocolate chunks and whipped cream. Set your imagination free and impress your guests!
