According to WHO, about 1.2 million people die in road accidents throughout the world annually. In our country, roughly 14,000 people lost their lives in road mishaps. It is also a fact that road accidents are under reported.
We need to work on reducing this number. Education is one of the counter-measures against road accidents. It is suggested that provincial governments should include literature relating to road safety in school curriculum. This road-safety awareness will certainly help reduce this high number of road-related deaths and disability in our country.
