Rallies support army, condemn Nawaz

MULTAN/LAYYAH/RAJANPUR: Rallies and demonstrations were on Sunday staged in different cities of the country in favour of Pakistan Army and against the statement of former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

The speakers asked the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar and Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa to take stern notice of Nawaz’s statement. In Multan, a protest rally, led by PTI Chairman of UC 4 Muhammad Zarar Khan and Tariq Khan, was taken out against the remarks of Nawaz Sharif.

Former MPA Shahid Mehmood Khan made a telephonic address to the participants of the rally. Several prominent personalities of the area attended the rally. A Pakistan Zindabad car rally was also held here led by the son of Bugti tribe chief and former Balochistan MPA Mir Tariq Bugti to show solidarity with Pakistan, the armed forces and national institutions. Several people participated in the rally.

Another rally was taken out from Fakhar Jehan Park to Khatam-e-Nabuwwat Chowk in Rajanpur against the statement of Nawaz Sharif. The participants raised slogans in favour of the Pakistan Army. In Layyah, the PTI held a protest demonstration in front of District Press Club.

The participants condemned the remarks of Nawaz Sharif about the Mumbai attacks. The speakers said Nawaz had in fact attacked Pakistan by accusing own motherland of involvement in Mumbai attacks.

They urged Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Saqib Nisar and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa to take stern notice of the ex-PM’s statement. They also raised slogans against Nawaz Sharif.

Meanwhile, PTI South Punjab Vice President Chaudhry Tahir Wahila lodged an application with Vehari Police Station for registration of a case against Nawaz Sharif. He reached the police station with the workers in shape of rally and raised slogans in support of Pakistan Army and against Nawaz Sharif and India.
