LAHORE: Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) and Swiss Business Council (SBC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand bilateral trade and investment flows over the next one year, a statement said on Thursday.
The goals and areas of cooperation included in the MoU are to identify and develop business and investment opportunities in the respective regions for private/public alliances, develop linkages between investors and businessmen of both countries and the establishment of Pak-Swiss Facilitation Desk (PSFD) at PBIT to look after matters pertaining to trade and investment between Pakistan and Switzerland.
Collaborative efforts to promote vibrant image of Pakistan in Switzerland and nomination of focal persons from both sides to address the concerns of Swiss companies based in Punjab are other major goals of the agreement.
Both the parties will jointly arrange relevant investment/trade conferences and seminars for furthering their goals both domestically and internationally.
Chief Executive Officer, PBIT, Mohammad Ilyas Ghauri and President, SBC, Yasmin Peermohamed signed the agreement.
Chaudhry Muhammad Shafique, Minister industries Punjab, Suleman N Khan Honorary Counsul of Switzerland, Abdul Basit, Chairman PBIT, Kimihide Ando, CEO Mitsubishi, and Ms. Seema Aziz, Managing Director Seefam were also present on the occasion.
