PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that political interference by the politicians in public sector institutions in the past hindered the rights of poor segments of the society.

“The PTI, after coming to power, changed this mindset and ensured public welfare through transparent governance,” he said while addressing a PTI workers’ delegation from Upper Dir at the Chief Minister’s House.

Provincial Minister Mehmood Khan, Special Assistant to CM Dr Amjad Ali, MPA Fazle Hakim and others were also present on the occasion.

Prominent political personality of Dir Sahibzada Sibghatullah along with companions and family members joined the PTI on the occasion.

Welcoming the new entrants to the fold of PTI, the chief minister said that the growing trend of joining PTI by workers of the other political parties was clear manifestation of the PTI-led provincial government’s popularity, its efficient delivery and its commitment to the cause of poor.

Pervez Khattak said that PTI implemented its agenda for change. “Other political forces during their rule failed to put on ground their agenda and that is the main difference between PTI and other political forces,” he said, adding that political intervention in public sector institutions was a criminal approach that all other political parties committed but PTI changed this trend and discouraged political interference in institution.
