The rupee weakened against the dollar on Wednesday following fresh demand for the US currency from importers to settle their payments, dealers said.
In the interbank market, the rupee ended 101.83 against the greenback, fell 11 paisas from the previous closing of 101.72.
Dealers said the foreign exchange market saw volatile trading, as the rupee-dollar parity moved in the range of 101.87 and 101.91.
