KARACHI: An-anti Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday sent former Malir SSP Rao Anwar on 30-day physical remand in Naqeebullah murder case a day after his dramatic appearance in the Supreme Court of Pakistan .
He was brought to the ATC situated in Clifton area of the city amid tight security.
Anwar was presented before the ATC by SP Investigation Abid Qaim Khani who brought the former SSP from Malir Cantt.
Over a dozen police vehicles, two armored personnel carriers (ACPS) and motorcycle riding policemen were part of the convoy that brought him to the court.
An APC was left behind when one of its tiers punctured on way to the court.
The former SSP went into hiding following allegations that he was involved in the extra judicial murder of Naqeebullah Mehsood, a native of South Waziristan, in Shah Latif Town.
The officer ignored Supreme Court orders for days before surrendering himself to the country's top court.
His name was placed on the Exit Control List (ECL) after Rao Anwar's bid to flee the country was foiled by officials of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) at Islamabad's Benazir International Airport.
