FAISALABAD: An attempt to attack PTI chief Imran Khan with a shoe was thwarted when he came to address a rally here on Sunday. The accused was collared by PTI workers and handed over to the police after he came close to Imran’s vehicle and attempted to hurl a shoe at him. He was later identified as Mirza Ramzan who told media persons that he attempted to do so in reaction to a shoe attack on Nawaz Sharif in Lahore. A PTI leader said Ramzan had been assigned the job by a relative of Rana Sanaullah. PTI leader Farrukh Habib termed the incident an attempt of revenge after the Nawaz Sharif incident.
