China to deepen ties with Pakistan to promote BRI

BEIJING: China vowed to further deepen its ties with Pakistan and other friendly countries to promote implementation of Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and to build a community of shared destiny.

China's top political advisory body started its annual session here, vowing to take on new mission for the country's goal toward a "great modern socialist country." The BRI is on the top of the session’s agenda.

According to the political observers here, Pakistan is an important country in the region and it has assumed special position due to China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The CPEC is major and pilot project of the BRI.

Yu Zhengsheng, Chairman of the 12th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, delivered a work report to 2,149 political advisors who gathered to discuss major political, economic and social issues in the world's most populous nation and second largest economy.

"We will deep the CPPCC's ties with our friends from abroad, promote the implementation of Belt and Road Initiative and contribute to the building of a community with shared future for humanity", he said.

"We developed extensive ties with our friends, contributing to creating a favourable external environment. “We engaged in a pragmatic high level exchanges with contacts abroad and promoted cooperation in building Belt and Road Initiative and increasing complementarity between the development strategies of China and other countries along the routes", Yu Zhengsheng said while discussing the achievements of CPPCC National Committee. "We will focus our advice and efforts on the main issues in securing a decisive victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and embarking on a journey to fully build a modern socialist China," Yu said.
