Anshuka Sharma's upcoming horror movie "Pari" has been banned in Pakistan.

In a Facebook post, Nueplex cinemas announced that the movie is banned and will not be screened at the theaters.

“We have just been informed that PARI has been banned by the Central Board of Film Censors, Pakistan. Hence the film will not be screened at Nueplex Cinemas,” the post read.

The film was slated for release on the occasion of ‘Holi’.

The production of the film took around Indian rupees 100 million and its publicity costed the filmmakers some 80 million.

However, it is being reportedly said that the film already has been successful in recovering the costs incurred and its satellite rights have been sold in 100 million.

Pari’s teasers released earlier had created great anticipation amongst the audiences who looked forward to see Anushka in a new yet strange role.
