TOKYO: What made the sweet tooth run? Tokyo named it the ‘Sweets Marathon Race’ which managed to gather an enthusiastic crowd for a fun run at the Jingu Gaien Park this week.
The video has the entire narrative filmed – the pre-race hype where excitement and preps dwelled among the contestants, the run that drained them but the crave for the heavenly desserts kept them running, and at last, the sweet tooth satisfaction once the maze concluded the race with a food street catered only with the finest dessert and cakes.
Runners pay 6,500 yen, almost fifty euros to take part for the January 22 scheduled marathon, which not only expands across Japan but has its fame growing on a yearly basis.
The event also has its promising offer as the runners can also buy their favourite cakes after they've finished.
