LAHORE: The Cyber Crime Wing of the FIA Lahore on Thursday recorded statements of journalist Asad Kharral and the brother of a PTI leader on the charges of uploading a photoshopped picture of the Sharif family. Asad Kharral appeared before CCW Deputy Director Khalid Anees and stated that the photoshopped picture of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif kissing the hand of Prince Muhammad Salman of Saudi Arabia was uploaded by one of his employees -- Umar. He condemned this act and assured the FIA investigator that Umar would soon appear before the FIA to record his statement.
Umar Dar, brother of PTI leader Usman Dar, also recorded his statement wherein he admitted that he was the incharge of the PTI Social Media Wing, but he didn’t photoshop the picture of the former PM. He said the picture was already on the social media and it was soon removed. Later, talking to the media, Umar termed FIA investigations against him political victimisation. He said the FIA questioned him about the picture for two hours. He said why investigations into the Model Town killings hadn’t been completed even after the passage of more than three years.
