Amir smashes double ton as Pakistan bulldoze Australia

KARACHI: Pakistan’s Amir Shafiq smashed a double century to help Pakistan beat Australia by 394 runs in their match of the Blind Cricket World Cup at Ajman on Sunday.

Pakistan posted a breathtaking score of 563, breaking their own record of 517 they had made against South Africa in 2009 at Cape Town.Pakistan’s skipper Nisar Ali won the toss and decided to bat first.

Pakistan had a poor start as Matiullah lost his wicket for just five runs. Sanaullah joined opener Amir and scored 300 together. Sanaullah got out after scoring 143 off 69 balls. Haroon Khan joined Amir and the duo added 136. Amir got out after making 218 runs off 95 balls. Haroon Khan scored 105, while Zafar Iqbal contributed 32.

Stephen Palmer (71) and Riki (33) were the top scorers for Australia. Haroon and Matiullah took one wicket each.Amir was adjudged man-of-the-match.In other matches, India defeated Nepal by eight wickets and Sri Lanka trounced Bangladesh by five wickets.
