The rise in the prices of essential commodities has become a serious issue. Prices of wheat, flour, rice, pulses, sugar, vegetable oil and other basic necessities have touched new heights. The steep rise in prices has severely hit the poor and people belonging to the middle class.
Big businessmen and hoarders store items in their warehouses and create artificial shortages in the market. This leads to an increase in prices. Shopkeepers and traders must be ordered to put government-approved price lists of essential commodities. Black marketers and hoarders must be dealt with strictly.
