Seven episodes into the play, Anjum Shahzad directorial Khaani manages to keep us intrigued. Though the pace of progress has slackened, the story is moving well, making viewers wonder what’s going to happen next. While Mir Hadi (Feroze Khan) cannot get over why Khaani (Sana Javed) isn’t afraid of him and followed her everywhere, he expresses his love for her in the latest episode aired on Monday.

After much contemplation, Mir Hadi finally has the answer as to why Khaani and her words bother him all the time. He realizes that he has fallen in love with her and can no longer tolerate her hatred for him. He visits the restaurant she works at and tells her that he loves him when she comes to take the order. Though he is at ease now and is determined to get her by hook or by crook, he has left Khaani bewildered.

On the other hand, Mir Hadi’s parents are extremely restless after learning the truth of their son’s changed behavior. The only solution to this according to them is killing Khaani, as promo of the next episode suggests.

Feroze Khan as Mir Hadi has delivered the best performance of his career so far and has garnered immense praise for this portrayal ever since the first episode. He is still the centre of attention and leaves impact whenever he appears on the screen. Maybe it’s the aversion we have for weeping heroines, but Khaani’s character, played to lukewarm proportion by Sana Javed, fails considerably in connecting with the viewers.
