ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif is in the accountability court for the tenth time in connection with the graft references filed against him by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on the directives of the Supreme Court.
Accountability today resumes hearing of the three corruption references against Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Mayram Nawaz and son-in-law Captain(R) Safdar.
Earlier, Nawaz Sharif arrived at Islamabad airport from Lahore along with Maryam Nawaz where they were received by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leaders Asif Kirmani, Sheikh Ansar Aziz and Pervaiz Rashid.
Sharif was expected to hold a brief meeting with senior leadership of his party, discussing the issues regarding the cases being faced by him and his other family members.
In today’s hearing two witnesses, Yasir Bashir in Al-Azizia Steel Mills and Shakeel Anjum Nagrah in Avian Field reference, are expected to record their statements.
It is pertinent to note that the court had granted him immunity for a week from appearing during the last hearing.
