While a strong Indian side defeated us by 76 runs, it is the defeat – by a margin of 150 runs – against a lower ranked West Indies that is alarming. The major responsibility for this rout lies with the tour management committee.
However, we should never forget that Pakistan has immense talent which, if properly harnessed and given the right guidance, can produce good results. We should immediately send some of our former experienced cricketers like Wasim Bari, Javed Miandad, Mohsin Hasan Khan, Abdul Qadir or Aamir Sohail to Australia to guide our team in their remaining World Cup matches.
