ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said on Wednesday that the government is stable and would complete its five years constitutional tenure. He was talking to newsmen in London after meeting with former prime minister Shaukat Aziz.
Khawaja Asif said that he sees no threat to the government in Pakistan, adding that PML-N government has completed most of its agenda during four and half year and fulfilled all the promises made by its chief Nawaz Sharif, He further said that the government has overcome the problem of loadshedding, and restored peace during its period till now.
Asif said that Pakistan forces have sacrificed to wipe out the terrorists from Pakistan to establish peace.
To a question he said that the government is stable, and the next general elections would be conducted on time, saying it is the right of opposition to protest. "We also used to do the same when PML-N was on opposition benches," he added.
The minister said that PML-N is united under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif and the people have full confidence in the policies of its government.
Commenting on the OIC Summit held in Turkey, the Foreign Minister said that representatives of Muslim Ummah had expressed solidarity with the people of Palestine.
He said Pakistan had given suggestions that the matter of Palestine could be raised at the forum of General Assembly and Security Council.
