Two soldiers martyred in North Waziristan attack

RAWALPINDI: Two soldiers were martyred when terrorists fired on an army vehicle in North Waziristan Agency, military said in a statement on Tuesday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the army, the terrorists targeted the army vehicle from surrounding mountains in North Wazirstan Agency.

"Resultantly An officer 2nd Lieutenant Abdul Moeed and Sepoy Basharat embraced shahdat," said the statement.

The ISPR said Lt Abdul Moeed 21, who recently passed out from Pakistan Military Academy was a resident of Burewala, Vehari while Sepoy Basharat, 21 years old having 3 years military service belonged to a Danyor village in Gilgit.

Meanwhile , ISPR Director General Major Asif Ghafoor shared on Twitter pictures of two soldiers with a message from the Chief of Army Staff that said ""Freedom isn't free, it costs sons of the soil. Freedom that we enjoy today is owed to so many such bravehearts. Salute to our Martyrs".

NA offers Fateha

The National Assembly on Tuesday offered Fateha for Second Lieutenant Abdul Moeed and Sepoy Basharat martyred in North Waziristan Agency.

Sahibzada Tariq Ullah led the Fateha.
