Traffic on roads of Karachi is increasing day by day. According to some reports, over 30,000 accidents take place on the roads of Karachi each year. Currently, apart from ambulances of various charity organisations, there is no rescue service under the supervision of the Ministry of Health. Although previous governments had started the initiative of a rescue service, those ambulances are now out of order.
The federal government should focus on launching a proper rescue service in the city. All ambulances should have paramedic staff to provide first aid treatment to patients. Following in the steps of the Punjab government, the Sindh government too should start a motorcycle ambulance service so that people who live in congested areas can be facilitated.
