KOHAT: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Wednesday said that 160 MNAs of the ruling party should be ashamed of voting in favour of a disqualified person to save him. He said it showed Rs94 billion bribery. “No other country around the globe has made the mockery of democracy like the PML-N did,” he added.
The PTI chief criticised the MNAs belonging to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for voting against a motion forwarded by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in the National Assembly to amend the Section 203 of the Election Act 2017 to remove Nawaz Sharif as the president of the PML-N.
He said that he would quit politics if any document he had submitted to the Supreme Court in the money trail case proved wrong.
Talking to reporters after inaugurating the newly-constructed Police Lines here, he said that he had submitted several documents to the Supreme Court in the assets case against him. He said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had been fooling the people for the past three decades, alleging he shifted Rs300 billion abroad. He said that Nawaz Sharif submitted a ‘fake’ letter of a Qatari prince in the Supreme Court. “The letter turned out to be fake,” he said, adding Nawaz Sharif would not be asking the reason of his disqualification if he had established his money trail before the Supreme Court.
The PTI chairman said that courts, and not the people, held the corrupt accountable. “People vote on the basis of performance of a government and do not hold anyone accountable,” he elaborated. He said the PTI-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa depoliticised the Police Department and introduced reforms. He said the PTI appointed honest and dedicated officers to head the police force to improve its performance. He said the performance of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police had improved and the people were the ultimate beneficiary of the reforms.

year in the past 10 years in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that those who could not come out of their houses were now organising huge public meetings without any fear.
About the girl stripping incident in Dera Ismail Khan, Imran Khan said that opposition parties were playing politics on the issue. He said the government and police fulfilled their duty and arrested eight of the nine accused in the case within 24 hours. “I telephoned the inspector general of police soon after the incident occurred and got details about it,” he added.
He appreciated the introduction of Dispute Resolution Council, saying the forum resolved 17,000 minor disputes since its inception.
KP Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak and provincial Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Muhammad Atif Khan accompanied Imran Khan during the visit. IGP Salahuddin Khan Mahsud was also present on the occasion.
