girls are taught to do struggle for their successful life. Kinnaird College has the prominent status in sports field. And today, I am extremely happy that the diabetes awareness walk is organised in this college.
Sohail Malik said “Empowering women with diabetes” is the theme of this year. A woman trains her family. A child’s first educational institution is his mother. Therefore, women should stay healthy and aware.
Wasif Nagi (Pride of Performance, Senior Editor Health, Education, Current affairs and Chairman Mir Khalil Ur Rehman Society, Jang Group of Newspapers) said that ROCHE Pakistan is playing an important role in spreading awareness about diabetes and this awareness walk is also chained with it. If diabetes is not treated on time, it can affect other body parts. We have eliminated the habit of doing exercise and taking healthy food from our life.
Maryam Naseem said “When I went to Australia, I saw everyone doing exercise there. They mostly used to do weightlifting. I learnt a lot from there and; today, I am representing Pakistan in weight-lifting at international level.
We can achieve everything through struggle. We should make exercise part of our life. If we get aware of this disease, then we can spread awareness among others. Dr Farzeen Malik said that weight loss should be kept in order to avoid diabetes. We should do exercise daily, avoid smoking and quit depression.
Diabetes has two types; Type one diabetes and Type two diabetes. We should take simple and balanced diet, eat bran bread and brown sugar.
Dr Mehreen said diabetes is spreading so quickly. This is worse situation. Sometimes, women suffer from diabetes during pregnancy and due to that, they have to face many complications. Saira Rafique said she is the chess master and she has represented Pakistan two times at international level. Diabetes is not injurious to health if we take balanced diet, do exercise regularly and take medicines properly; she added. —Sitara Jabeen Butt
