Willing to make any sacrifice for democracy: Nawaz

LAHORE: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has said he is willing to make any sacrifice for the sake of democracy.
Talking to the media after offering Friday prayers in a Defence mosque, he said: “May God have mercy on Pakistan.” He said a programme for the prosperity of the poor would be implemented in future. He said he played a pivotal role in strengthening democracy in the country and would continue to do so. He said he eliminated terrorism and load-shedding from the country.
He said law and order was restored in Karachi and Balochistan during the last four years. He said the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project was being completed at fast pace and it would not be allowed to fail. He said that in 2013, he served the nation and with the blessings of Almighty Allah, he would serve the nation in 2018 too.
The former prime minister said the PML-N never did politics of propaganda and took all decisions in the best interests of the masses. He said Almighty Allah would end our difficulties soon.
Later, he visited the house of Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif and congratulated him on the marriage of his daughter. He, along with Maryam Nawaz, also visited the residence of Aleem Butt to condole his death with his family. He prayed for the
departed soul. He visited the houses of Ishtiaq Gogi, Malik Riaz and Irfan Pehlwan as well.
