Two events – Operation Zarb-e-Azb and the martyrdom of over 130 students of the Army Public School in Peshawar – will prove to be harbingers of de-radicalisation of Pakistan in 2015.
The much-delayed military operation in North Waziristan successfully dislodged the Taliban from their stronghold while the martyrdom of schoolchildren in Peshawar united the entire nation to annihilate militancy once for all. The speed and resolve with which events are unfolding after the two events makes one hopeful that in the year 2015 Pakistan will be de-radicalised at least ninety percent.
