The recent monsoon season has brought bad news for residents of Sindh. The healthcare authorities of the province have warned that once the monsoon season if over, the outbreak of malaria is highly likely. According to the official figures, during the current year, around 14,000 cases of malaria have been reported. If proper steps are not taken, this mosquito-borne disease can turn lethal. Already the number of deaths due to mosquito-borne diseases is extremely high. According to a WHO report, diseases like dengue, chikungunya and malaria kill an estimated one million people annually.
